What is Outstanding Tiny Desk AI?
Outstanding Tiny Desk AI is the AI video trend that puts you inside the most famous Tiny Desk ending on TikTok: Charlie Wilson's band crowded around an office desk, singing the Gap Band's Outstanding. Upload one photo and you become the lead singer, from the sing-along at the desk to the big laugh in the close-up.
People also call it the Outstanding Tiny Desk meme, the tiny desk AI trend or the washed anthem video. Your face takes the lead, AI musicians fill the band and the trend sound comes already synced: a 13-second 9:16 video for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
Where the Outstanding Tiny Desk meme came from
NPR Music posted Charlie Wilson's Tiny Desk concert on June 5, 2023. It ends with Outstanding, the 1982 Gap Band hit he sang lead on.
On October 18, 2026, TikTok creator @theburnerfromhe11 posted an AI parody, "College Football's Week 8 All-Loss Tiny Desk Concert", with five head coaches whose teams lost that Saturday playing the band. It passed 2.6 million plays, NFL versions followed within days, and the Outstanding Tiny Desk AI trend took off.
What the Outstanding Tiny Desk AI video looks like
Your Outstanding Tiny Desk AI video follows the viral clip shot for shot: the same desk, the same cuts, the same sound, with you singing lead and AI musicians in the band.
Made on this site from AI-generated photos. Tap the speaker on a video to hear it.
The band shot: you lead the sing-along at the desk while the band claps along behind you.
The close-up: you belt the line, crack up laughing and wave a hand at the band.
The sax solo closes it out.
13 seconds, 9:16, with the trend sound synced to the cuts.
How to make an Outstanding Tiny Desk AI video

The desk, the band, the cuts and the sound of the viral clip are built into the Tiny Desk AI template. Choose 480p or 720p; every video is 13 seconds.

The song is the washed anthem, so whoever sings lead in your Outstanding Tiny Desk AI video just had a rough week. Cast someone who earned it.
Your fantasy league's last place
The friend who started a kicker on a bye week. Drop the video in the league chat on Monday morning.
The friend who peaked in high school
Still telling the state semifinal story. Give them one more stage and a sax solo.
You, after a long Monday
The first one was about coaches who lost. Losing to a Monday counts too.
The birthday person
Nobody feels more washed than on their 30th. Send it instead of a card.
Only photos of you or friends who agreed. We don't take photos of coaches, players or other public figures.
Tiny Desk AI template or a CapCut template?
Most Tiny Desk tutorials on TikTok point to an app template that you line up and edit yourself. The Outstanding Tiny Desk AI template here does the swap for you: upload a photo and the viral clip comes back with you singing lead, cut and synced, sound included.
The trade-off: the shots and the song are fixed, because that is the template. If TikTok mutes the audio, add the trend sound inside the app.
How to post your Tiny Desk AI video
Three things that make an Outstanding Tiny Desk AI video land in the group chat and on TikTok.
Keep the sound, or add it back
The video already plays the trend sound. If TikTok mutes it, tap Add sound, search "outstanding tiny desk" and pick the trend sound.
Caption it like a box score
Name the loss. The meme works when everyone knows why this person is at the desk.
Label it as AI
Turn on TikTok's AI-generated content label before you post your Outstanding Tiny Desk AI video. It's a parody, so say so.

Outstanding Tiny Desk AI FAQ
Is the Outstanding Tiny Desk AI template free?
It uses credits: 104 at 480p or 212 at 720p for the 13-second video. Credit packs start at $4.99 and never expire. If the AI declines your photo or the video fails, the credits come straight back.
Is the Outstanding song in it?
Yes. Your Tiny Desk AI video comes with the trend sound, synced to the cuts. If a platform mutes it, add the sound back inside TikTok.
Is it the real Tiny Desk footage?
No. It is our own AI-made version of the viral clip: the same desk and cuts, AI musicians in the band and your face on the lead singer. Nobody from the real concert appears in your Outstanding Tiny Desk AI video.
Can I put a coach or a player in it?
No. Use photos of yourself or of friends who said yes. We don't accept photos of coaches, players, celebrities or other public figures; your fantasy league has plenty of washed candidates.
Can my friends be in the band?
One photo sings lead and AI musicians fill the band. For a friend’s turn, make one Tiny Desk AI video each and post them back to back.
Why is Outstanding called the washed anthem?
Sports fans have used the song for clips of players past their prime for years. Putting someone at the Tiny Desk says they are washed, in the nicest way.
How long does an Outstanding Tiny Desk AI video take?
Usually three to five minutes, because the clip is made one shot at a time. You can close the tab; the finished video waits in My lies.
